Authorship Press builds the book from your own words, in PDF, EPUB, and web. It is free for the first three authors, and it arrives ten business days after we start.
What you get
You get a finished digital book with your name on it. A person reads your material, arranges it into chapters, and edits your spoken words into prose. You choose the book direction, the title, the cover, and the structure from options we bring.
The book arrives in PDF, EPUB, and web. You hold the copyright, including the new material we create in production, so you can publish it, sell it, or keep working on it.
Light fact-check and sensitivity checks are included. They flag what needs a decision; they do not change your text. The free offer also includes a plain-language agreement that sets out what it covers and how we handle your material.
How it works
- Apply. Answer about 20 minutes of questions, and we check that your material can carry a book.
- Send your material and make the choices. You complete a typed Author’s Brief, accept the agreement, and add your recordings. We bring three book directions and three cover directions, then a first look at the title, cover, and structure.
- Your book arrives. We start on a Monday, one book at a time. Ten business days later you can read it in PDF, EPUB, and web.
Who this is for
This is for creators who have an existing audience, an archive of spoken material, and a subject they speak about with authority.
It is not for someone who has not started creating, who wants someone else to write the book, who wants a book generated from a prompt, or who wants free work to collect rather than a book to publish, sell, or share.
What it costs
The First Edition is free for the first three authors. Nothing is charged for the application, the book, or the three formats.
We ask for your honest feedback and, separately, for permission before we share anything that identifies you. Both are optional.
Paid work is available later if you want the book finished for publication. It covers a full fact-check and sensitivity review, a final cover and layout, ISBN and production setup, and help putting the book in front of your audience. Your free book stands on its own.
